  • Sick and Hospitalized – Call your Pastor, The Rev. Jesse Hawkins. I always see parishioners who are hospitalized.
  • Death – Call your pastor.
  • Meeting Space Requests – Please contact the office, or download a copy of the Meeting Room Request Form.
  • Weddings – Call your Pastor.
  • Sick and Shut-In; Need Communion – Please contact the office.

Thank you for your cooperation, and if you have any questions, please don't hesitate to give me a call. All of these protocol procedures will soon be published in our Membership and Policy Handbook.

From the Pastor's Desk . . .

Calling All persons who love flowers and being outdoors. We are looking for persons who are interested in being responsible for the for planting and maintaining the flowers in the Walk of Faith Area near the fountain. We are wanting to beautify the campus and need your help, Please see Pastor Hawkins if you are interested.

The 2nd Quarterly Conference is scheduled for Monday, May 20, 2019, at 7pm. All officers should plan to be in attendance.   Quarterly conference reports are due and should reflect the period of February 1, 2019 through April 30, 2019.

2nd Quarterly Budget - Each adult member assessment of $50 is due.

COG | St. John will be celebrating the 2019 graduates on Sunday, May 19th. Graduates from 8th grade, high school, and postsecondary institutions will be recognized. If students would like to be recognized, please contact the Education and Scholarship Committee at as soon as possible to receive instructions. Questions and materials may be directed to or to Jacqueline Earl at 630-269-0088.

2019 Vacation Bible school Registration and Volunteer Sign-up is underway!! This year’s theme is S.T.U Super Training University with Jesus. The program will run from Monday, June 10th through Friday, June 14th, 6-8:30 p.m. Classes for all ages will be available.

CALLING ALL VOLUNTEERS - Children’s Church will remain open for Mother’s Day, Graduation Sunday, and the Summer Months (June, July and August). In order for us to staff our program, we are going to need your help. Please consider signing up to volunteer to serve as a director, teacher, or arts and crafts leader. We are requesting that all children’s church parents must sign-up to volunteer at least twice to give our volunteers a break. If we do not get enough volunteers, we will not be able to keep the program up and running. On behalf of the Women’s Ministry of the Cathedral of Grace | St. John, we would like to thank you for your support of our outreach project – donating black bottoms and White tops to the Women’s Center – Fox Valley Transition Center in Aurora, IL. Because of your Christians hearts for service and selflessly giving we collected 70 Black Bottoms and 75 White tops. The last of these items were delivered on May 5th. These garments will assist the women of this Center in their journey to wholeness through employment. Thank you all so very much. We so appreciate you.

Please join the Christian Community Walking Club on Saturdays from 7:30 a.m. - 8:45 a.m., at the Vaughn Athletic Center, 2121 West Indian Trail, Aurora, IL.

The DuPage County NAACP Education Committee, will hold its 6th Annual Education Breakfast on June 1, 2019 at Wentz Concert Hall at North Central College in Naperville. The program entitled, “It Takes A Village”, will embark upon A Journey of Culture, Perseverance, and Courage, of Africans on the continent of Africa, their journey through the Middle Passage and enslavement, through the Jim Crow Era and the Civil Rights Movement, experienced by those of African descent here in North America. The journey will be traveled by way of storytelling, dance, and song. The program will feature Community Student Leader Recognition, Community Contributors to Education Recognition; Craig Dellimore, Political Editor WBBM News radio, Guest Narrator; Juan Thomas, 1st VP DuPage County NAACP, Narrator; the Muntu Dance Theater of Chicago; and The Cathedral of Grace | St. John Church Ensemble and Wax Museum performers. The Rev. Jesse D. Hawkins, Jr. will be a recipient of a 2019 Community Contributors to Education Award.
