PLEASE NOTE THE FOLLOWING:

St. John is a growing, vibrant and wonderful congregation that still desires to remain, “The Church at the Caring End of Ministry.” As Pastor, I would ask that you direct your concerns regarding the following requests to the person(s) listed below:

  • Counseling – TBA
  • Sick and Hospitalized – Call your Pastor, The Rev. Jesse Hawkins. I always see parishioners who are hospitalized.
  • Death – Call your pastor.
  • Meeting Space Requests – The Rev. Ken Cowan, Mrs. Sybil Luster, Receptionist, or download a copy of the Meeting Room Request form from the webpage.
  • Weddings – Call your Pastor.
  • Sick and Shut-In; Need Communion – The Rev. Melvin Mosley and your Ambassador.

Thank you for your cooperation, and if you have any questions, please don't hesitate to give me a call. All of these protocol procedures will soon be published in our Membership and Policy Handbook.

MISSION STATEMENT: It is the mission of St. John to be a beacon of faith and transforming presence in the lives of individuals in the community we serve and in the wider world around us.


FROM THE PASTOR'S DESK . . .

Breakfast Fellowship - Two Volunteers are needed for leadershipfor the following months -  December, February, March, April and July. We are seeking one additional volunteer for June and August. Please volunteer to help us become more efficient this year. Volunteers - please contact the office as soon as possible. A schedule will be posted for the entire year.

From the Presiding Elder - Mandatory Sexual Misconduct training for Pastors, Clergy, Staff, Appointed or Elected Officials and Volunteers within the Church will be held on November 11, 2017, from 9 am-1 pm at Bethel AME Church 4444 S. Michigan, Chicago, IL. All persons are required to pre-register no later than October 31st. The registration fee is $10.00. Checks should be made payable to Milwaukee District. Please check with the office for the address.


WEEKLY ANNOUNCEMENTS

Fulfillment Hour is in session - Imagining Life God’s Way. William Langford is our Facilitator.

Fall Bible Study “if” is in session on Tuesday at noon, Tuesday evening at 7:15 p.m. and Sunday (Young Adults) at 8:30 a.m.

Women’s Missionary Society and Senior Adult Ministry & will facilitate the service for HESED House on Sunday, October 29, 2017 and Monday, October 30, 2017. We are to prepare dinner for 200 guests on Sunday and 100 sack lunches for Monday. 

Everyone’s help is needed. Volunteers are needed to:

  • Donate and prepare food
  • Assist with serving food
  • Assist with preparing the bag lunches
  • Fellowship with the residents
  • Assist the Hesed House Staff
    Assist wherever needed
